Re: The Catch Up Thread « Result #1 on Sept 27, 2009, 7:50am »
Aw, I was hoping this place would still be kicking like it was.
Lots of things have changed for me... Two months ago, I moved 1600 miles away from the only place I could ever call home... to northern California! That decision I had to make about a year and 2 months ago... I decided not to let one bad teacher bring me down.. and I'm so glad I didn't quit art. I'm now wanting to go into visual effects in film. So, I moved out here to pursue that at a college that I found. There's no better place for me to be than Cali.
I also broke up with the guy I was dating for 2½ years. It happened around 11 months ago. It wasn't really a smooth breakup, but I didn't expect it to be. It never is with me for some reason. *sigh* But at least he has learned to be civil with me now and we can actually communicate as friends, somewhat.
I'm also in another relationship now, with an old friend.. it's the kind of situation where I didn't know what was in front of my eyes throughout the past 5 years, yet I knew there was something between us and was scared to admit it... but that's another story.
Reminds me of Delgo and Kaena The Prophecy. Animation looks similar to Clone Wars. Very Star Wars-ish looking, and it looks like they spent some big dollars on it. Great animation. The 3D aspect should make the battle scenes worth it. There's tons of famous people in it too.
Doesn’t appear the same old plot. Humans are the attackers and the aliens are the peaceful ones. It's coming out in May. I’m definitely seeing this one.
WHO ARE YOU, DR WHO? « Result #8 on Oct 17, 2008, 10:54pm »
I never got caught-up in the Dr. Who frenzy even though Dr. Who has been the longest running science-fiction television show in the world. It first screened on 23 November 1963 in the UK, the day after President Kennedy was shot in Dallas. On 22 November 1963 I re-enrolled at McMaster University in a first year arts course as I was coming out of my first serious depression in my first experience of bipolar disorder, an illness which has had an incapacitating effect on me periodically since that autumn of 1963.
Dr. Who was not screened in Canada until January 1965, three months before I graduated from that university arts course with a B.A. This fictional time-traveller has been popping up in my visual field off and on for the last thirty years since my only child, Daniel, was born in 1977 and since I finally bought a television set due to the enthusiasms as well as the gentle and not-so-gentle pressures of my wife and two step-daughters. They would often watch programs at the homes of friends and neighbours since we did not have a TV and were not able to “amuse themselves to death,” as Neil Postman argued in his 1985 book by the same name.
And so it was that when David Tennant, time-traveller and latest incarnation of Dr. Who, appeared on a BBC program: Who Do You Think You Are? which my wife taped for me here in Tasmania on 12 October 2008 at 7:30 p.m. on SBS TV, I had the funny feeling I had seen this chap before. And I had as I had wandered through the lounge-room on the way to or from my study in recent months as Dr. Who was being screened on Saturday evenings here in Tasmania Australia.
This now famous and popular program has provided over the last several decades an experience to millions of viewers that is now part of “the quintessence of being British,” or so wrote Caitlan Moran the TV reviewer for The Times. Steven Spielberg even went so far to say that: “the world would be a poorer place without Doctor Who.” –Ron Price with thanks to “Doctor Who,” Wikipedia, 17 October 2008.
Your story, David, like mine, like the Baha’i story I have been part of since 1953, is long, so very complex. Fathers, grandfathers, mothers and grandmothers, back and back to the year 1819,1 mirabile dictu,2 the birth of the Báb and the beginning of new cycles, ages, epochs, stages, phases, plans and programs that would and did change your world and ours...... There were several milestones in this story of yours: 1832, 1912, 1916, 1968, 1972 and they were milestones in the story I’ve been writing to figure out who I think I am. I hope you had some luck, David, figuring out your identity.
1 David Tennant’s great-great grandfather was Donald McLeod was born in 1819 in rural Scotland where his family had been for centuries. 1819 was the same year as the birth of the Báb, the Forerunner of Baha’u’llah, the Prophet-Founder of the Baha’i Faith. By 1900 the MacLeod family were based on Scotland’s industrial heartland, cities like Glasgow, and the administrative centre of gravity of the Baha’i Faith was beginning to make its shift to the United States. David Tennant’s story also became an intimate part of the story of Ireland in the 20th century. 2 A Latin expression meaning ‘marvellous to relate.’ It is like annus mirabilus meaning ‘wonderful year, year of wonders.’

Resident Evil 5 « Result #10 on Sept 17, 2008, 8:19pm »
Well RE fans this one is said to be the biggest open area of game play ever. E3, game informer, and IGN have all Confirmed Online Co-Op, Take on zombies with real-life backup, but you'll have to wait until next year. Thats to bad. I am a re fan and knowing you can co op brings life back to this story line. There will be a all new member to the cast as the story leads you into Africa. There will be Chris redfield and there is a big chance that his lil sister will be showing up in the game. As all ways RE has big shadow to fill from its last game. Lets hope this one will take the world.

9-11 remembered « Result #16 on Sept 11, 2008, 8:13pm »
As all of you know 9-11-01 was a bad day for america. The world trade centers were crashed into by hyjacked planes. Bringing them to the ground. The persons behide this act are still at large. Its been 7 years to the day. Will we catch the men that did this? Or will we keep makeing new topics each year about why we cant get him or them? As time gose by we all need to stop and remember the past. The lives lost the lives that will be lost as we continue our war effort. In the end no one will win no one will be able to look at the world the same.
Did you take part in trying to help your frinds recover or did you take up arms for revinge?

How long will a ps3 go befor it? « Result #18 on Sept 11, 2008, 5:05pm »
How long will a ps3 go befor it will not work if you dont go online?
I have had my system for like7 months and just this week it started to act up. I was thinking there was a falt with the system. I took it to best buy to use my warranty, but the man at the store ask " Have you ever hooked up online?" I was like no never have dont game online yet. "Well that might be the trouble. You need to update the software evry month." I asked if they will do it for free and he did. Also if you are getting blue ray movies affter some time even thay will not read. You have to update for the movies aswell. Funny I never thought that the system had to go online to run right.
Here is an all new biowear game. Its looking a lot like Balders gate, but its not. There is a lot of hype going into this RPG and I'm sold just looking at the cut seens and reading the reviews.
will it stand up as another winner from the rpg giant? Or has there luck run out?

Tom brady out for the year « Result #20 on Sept 9, 2008, 6:58pm »
Well in the opening week of the nfl one of the top QB's in the leage is not on IR for his left knee. This is going to make the pats return to the super bowl very hard.
Last year Brady won 19 games and threw for a record 50 touchdowns. Only to drop the big game to the New york Giants.
what will happen now that Matt Cassel is behind the wheel? Well for starters he did get the win in last nights game. So dose that meen there in good hands maybe only time will tell.
Whats going to happen to the fantasy players and owners?
